Megan McFarlane and O’Shella

Raised on a horse and cattle ranch I have always been involved with horses. At the age of seven, I started competing in Quarter horse shows. I was a member of the Canadian Pony Club for several years, achieving my Level B. I ride both English and Western in many disciplines with dressage being my passion. I teach English and Western riding and have a continuous program with the Kelowna YMCA offering riding lessons.

My horse, O’Shella, a homebred Dutch mare has been my partner since she was born. We are currently schooling Prix St. George.

By invitation, I spent three months as a working student at Lorraine Stubb’s Rock Eden Farm in Ontario where I worked with several young prospects as well as Lorraine’s Dutch stallion, Magnefiek, trained through Grand Prix.

While in Ontario, I had the opportunity to work with well-known dressage rider, Julia Vysncauska. For the month of March, I will be joining Julia in Florida to manage her horses through part of the show season
