Gina Ferguson

Hi my name is Gina Ferguson and I got interested in riding by my cousin, who was a competitive jumper. I loved horses when I was little and used to brush and walk trot my cousins. She had a Thoroughbred named Romeo and then she got a new horse named Keely who was a big sweetheart like Romeo. She taught me a lot of things about horses.

I was 11 years old when I first began to ride horses. My first horse I rode was Ozzy. He was a stubborn Appaloosa. Ozzy was a great horse. I leased him and other horses a lot. I became attached to horses more than never and never wanted to stop riding! I started jumping when I began to ride and it was scary. I jumped many horses but I mostly jumped a 15.3 hh standard bred named E.T He was very quick and smart. I stopped jumping for a while and did some flat work on Ozzy and Domi mostly. I went to schooling shows for a couple of years and now I am doing training level. I went to Rising Stars on 15.2 hh gray Arab named Stanley. It was a lot of fun! I own my own horse Whinny aka Windsor Wives, who’s mostly a jumper. Whinny is a 16.1 black thoroughbred mare. She is a very fast leaner and can jump 3’3. She is a gorgeous horse. She knows all the basics and loves shows. I took her to her first dressage show and she did really well! Whinny is a big sweetheart with a big heart. I sold her two years ago in August. She is now in a great home, living her dream as a jumper.

I leased a new horse at a different barn for a while in Pitt Meadows. His name is Bert and he is a chestnut thoroughbred. I took him to some shows in the summer. I have stopped leasing him and looking for another horse. I am still riding him in my lessons. He’s a great horse that I am learning a lot on. I hope to find a new horse for the next show season.
