British Columbia Young Riders Dressage is a non-profit group based in the Lower Mainland. Its goal is to develop and promote a high standard of achievement among young dressage riders, ages 12 to 25.

BCYR Dressage offers speakers, educational programs and riding development clinics for all levels of riders. It provides practical and financial assistance to riders achieving qualifying scores to attend National or International events. It promotes social and networking opportunities for members to encourage camaraderie, team building and good sportsmanship.

The purpose of our organization is to develop and promote a high standard of achievement among youth dressage riders by:

• Offering speakers, educational programs and riding clinics for all levels of riders;
• Providing practical and financial assistance to those riders who achieve qualifying scores to attend the North American Junior/Young Riders Championships and other national or international events;
• Providing social and networking opportunities to encourage camaraderie, team building and good sportsmanship among our members.

We have put together a membership binder that includes:

• A list of our members including their phone numbers and e-mail addresses so you can keep in touch;
• A number of sheets you can use to log your volunteer hours, keep records of veterinarian and farrier visits and your coaching and riding sessions.  Please copy more of these sheets as you need them;
• Information on awards and financial assistance programs that you can apply for;
• A 2011 show schedule;
• Your membership card and room to add your other membership cards;
• A sheet to record your show results;
• And a pocket to keep your horse passport in.

There are many benefits to being a member of B.C. Young Riders and we hope that you will take advantage of them all including:

• Support dressage for junior/young riders in B.C.
• Wear team gear
• Meet other young riders in B.C.
• Have a rider bio on our website
• Participate in educational clinics
• Enjoy discounts at tack shops such as Bates Tack Shop, Dog and Pony Shop, Otter Co-Op and Stampede Tack
• And help fundraise to support the B.C. teams in National and International competitions
