The 8 Award

Criteria has been updated January 2009
OBJECTIVE: To help Young Riders become aware of the
importance of classical and effective riding.

This program is
open to all dressage riders (BCYR Members in good standing) between the ages of 12 - 21 that reside in
British Columbia
-
The
accumulative 8 awards - must have been awarded a 8 for rider position by
more than one Judge AND from more than one "Gold" show to qualify for this
award.

There must be
a minimum of Five (5) 8 tests to win the gold eight pin.

The BCYR
member must include birth date.

Repeat
winners of the gold 8 pins will receive an additional diamond set in their
original gold pin.

Riders must
submit copies of the test before: October 15.

The copy must
show all of the collective scores, recognized show, date as well as the
signature and printed name of the judge.

Tests can be
submitted at any time before the deadline of October 15, 2007.
Please retain the original test copy for your records.

At the BC Young
Riders Annual Awards Dinner, the rider with the most 8's will receive a
gold stock pin in the shape of an 8 with a diamond chip in it. Value
of pin - $300.00. BCYR members only are eligible for this pin.

To break a tie,
the collective marks for submission will be the first marker to separate
the riders.

Failing to do
so, the highest aggregate score of the tests will be used to break the
tie.

Failing to do
so, the level of test will be considered, the higher level will be used to
break the tie.

Any rider
receiving a score higher than an "8" for Rider will automatically receive
a stock pin.

Multiple winners
of the Rider with the most "8"'s, will receive an additional diamond chip
for their current gold stock pin.

Awards will only
be given out at the BCYR Year End Banquet or other BCYR meeting/event.
Out of town riders will have their pin mailed.
